Elephant Mafunyane Sculpture in SilverIn the Shangaan dialect, Mafunyane means the irritable one. Mafunyane was probably the most famous of the Magnificent Seven tuskers. This magnificent but bad tempered bull elephant, who stood 327cm at the shoulder, was easily recognisable by his straight chisel ended tusks and by the large hole in his forehead. Didn't get a lot out of it
My wife got me this for a Christmas present. Having previously made it through Eusebius' "Proof of the Gospel", she figured I could handle it. I know this is part of Zondervan's Academic product line and as such is not aimed at a general audience. What I discover was that if the audience lacks credentials in Philosophy or Theology, the incessant use of jargon and terminology that would most often only be encountered in a Seminary or Religious College is something I found off-putting.

Work Book
Format: Paperback
Great study tool for the book. Recommend the book and study guide for educating one to the history of the Biblical times.

Respectful Critics
Format: Paperback
Wright and Bird do an excellent job of discussing the New Testament. They offer insights from the most widely held opinions and then offer their own with a multitude of resources. It is an excellent resources within its self.

Best-in-class New Testament study
Format: Paperback
Excellent “Summa of the Summa” from NT Wright, a major modern theologian. Suitable for serious Catholic bible study, but not for lightweights. DVDs could be improved with more active material, and Bird’s Aussie accent is problematic for some US audiences.

Accidentally ordered the workbook
Format: Paperback
I thought I was ordering the book, but got the workbook by accident. It looks really good! Keeping it, off to order the actual book instead. 🏃♀️
