Samoa Germany New Zealand 1/- Palms bisect, both types on piece. Used.In 1895 a fire destroyed in stocks of all Samoan stamps except the one shilling value which was then bisected diagonally and used as a 2d stamp for overseas letters between the 24th of April and May. They were cut diagonally and postmarked in blue. Collectors heard about these and wrote to Samoa asking for them.
