Labradorite was first discovered on Pauls Island, in Labrador, northeast of Canada. Labradorite stones have a labradorescence about them, meaning that they boast a lustrous mix of colors as a result of the stones interaction with light, reminiscent of the Northern Lights often seen in the north of Quebec.
