A lovable graphic novel!
Format: Kindle
Hello! I loved this book! Ive read it so many times and recently purchaced the sequel as well. Heres the basic story layout (spoilers ahead, read if you dare!) Dany is a girl who has a few friends that she hung out with in sixth grade. But shes transitioning tol seventh grade now, and she doesnt have any friends in her classes and lunch wave. But one day she finds a magical sketchbook that belonged to her aunt, but she doesnt know its magic, until she draws thehead of her favorite character (Prince Neptune) from a comic she reads called Solar Sisters, and his head comes to life! So she ends up drawing her perfect best friend: Shes popular, funny, gets good grades, and has good comebacks. Her name is Madison. She and Dany have the best time together, buying stuff at the mall with unlimited cash, and flying around town with their magic rings (thanks, magic sketchbook!) until when Dany brings Prince Neptune to school, during a big game at their gym, he busts in with a full body and takes over the school! Im not telling you the ending, get it for yourself and find out! Its a great book that explains all of middle school/ juinor highs struggles! Ive read it a ton of times! A must buy! GachaMemer33, OUT! :D

Good but eh...
Format: Kindle
I really enjoyed the book, I like how its different from other books, but when i reread the book, it seemed so cringey that she would like an evil character. I mean come on! Of course he was going become evil at once in the book, why else would he be a character?! It kind of has a predictable plot. So.... ya! (BTW, thats just my own opinons!)

Great GN about friendship w/ a supernatural twist
Format: Paperback
This full-color graphic novel is about a 7th grade girl named Dany. She has just started middle school and is pretty lonely. Her friends are in different classes now and have new in-jokes and stories that she doesn’t get anymore. So she’s feeling socially vulnerable when her eccentric (and loaded) great-aunt passes away and she ends up with the woman’s sketchbook. A magical sketchbook that will turn your drawing into real-life. So when Dany draws the head of her favorite anime character (uh yeah… JUST the head) and a super popular girl to be her friend, there are (as you can imagine!) some unintended consequences. This book is FUNNY but you won’t catch half the stuff unless you read the background texts - like the store names: “Hot Topic” is “Cool Subject” and the indredients list on the food have some interesting things listed on them. This book is like a mix of Shannon Hale’s Real Friends with a touch of Suee and the Shadow with a little sprinkle of Amulet. If you have readers about ages 10 and up who like graphic novels about friendships and would be up for something with a supernatural twist, then this would be a great recommendation. And… I see Gudsnuk has a sequel in store as well!

Growing pains
Format: Paperback
Middle school sucks. The transition from elementary to middle school is painfully isolating for Dani. In elementary school, Dani knew exactly where she fit in with her friends, she loved recess, sang songs they learned in school. Now, she doesn’t even have a friend in her lunch wave, there’s a bully, she arrives late to class and she has an annoying family. Everything is just wrong. Growing up is lonely, unless she can create a new bff with her magical notebook. Of course, there are consequences to her come-to-life drawings. This story is sweet, funny and well-illustrated. There are many little jokes inside each page too. This book is fun to read. It also uses a wish I always had as a child, to be able to create my own reality. I loved Making Friends, its references to Sailor Moon and its expressive characters. Truly a fun read.
